Tiffany began her professional career behind the
scenes of the Sally Jesse Raphael

acquired an eye for what consumers wanted and decided
to take her creative talents to another side of
the business – marketing and public relations.
Currently, Ms. Ellzy serves as the Marketing Manager
for Akademiks ladies apparel; here
she has the responsibility of building a 2-year-old

role in spearheading the retail launch of a new
athletic apparel division being licensed by Akademiks,
a premier young men’s apparel company.

THE LADYBUG
A
decade after securing her place as a member of Hip-Hop
Royalty, Mecca: the Ladybug is making her way back
to the limelight spiritually grounded and domestically
satisfied. Her life and sound have evolved through
her experiences since leaving the Grammy
Award-winning Digable Planets: the group
that made her one of hip-hop’s most distinct
female voices.
According to Ladybug, her new self-titled album,
LADYBUG MECCA, was inspired by “…being
me, the rhythm, being poetic, the weather, love,
the innocence of children, wisdom of elders, experiences,
sex, attraction, fantasy… it’s endless
really. I could go on and on.” It’s
a mature musical statement armed with the philosophy,
spiritual awareness and a solid sense of self.
Looking back at her militant past, Ladybug says,
“I was always conscious, but I was still limiting
myself. I was dealing with a revolution in a physical
sense, and not in a mental sense. It’s not
gonna happen that way.” Her goal was
not to recreate the glory of the past, but to move
into a new sense of musical-freedom, something very
worldly.
For Ladybug, this is an almost literal reincarnation.
It is powerful and self-actualized. She says, “I
am really kind of still getting to know my power.
At this point, it’s full throttle.”
